Fortified Atta ( Wheat Flour ) via Ration Shops

Wadhwa Committee report, and response from public in Mathrubhumi newspaper
Another issue is the Kerosene quota issue. The All Kerala Retail Ration Dealers Association Thrissur district committee has expressed their protest against the reduction of kerosene distribution through ration shops. There has been a 40% reduction in the availability of kerosene in the state according to the association. Out of the 80 lakh ration card holders in the state, four lakh card holders do not have electricity connection in their homes and the non-availability of kerosene will adversely affect them, the association members pointed out. Association district president PD Paul, who presided over the meeting, said, "Normally, we obtain 16 lakh kilo litres of kerosene from the government but this has been cut down to 10 lakh this time. This will affect the common people, especially because of the power cut."
