The government has issued orders for release of four prisoners, including former Inspector-General (IG) of Police K. Lakshmana, serving life term after being found guilty in the Naxalite Verghese killing case. The release order has been issued on the basis of a letter from the Director-General of Police (Jails) under the provisions of the Kerala Prisons Rules 1958 according to which persons aged above 75 years and were in poor health could be released, an official press note said here on Thursday Here is the timeline of events The Naxalite leader A. Verghese was killed in a fake encounter in 1970 in the Thirunelli forest in Wayanad. The former police constable, P. Ramachandran Nair, came out with an astonishing revelation in 1998 that he had shot Verghese dead on the orders of the then Superintendent of Police, Mr. Vijayan, and the then Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mr. Lakshmana. The CBI took over the investigation on a directive from the High Court in 1999 Ramachandran Nair died in November 2006. R Lakshmana, sentenced for life in 2010 Former IG Lakshmana released in 2013.

Though case is also against her for cheating , though video of function in which she is canvassing people with Biju is out she is yet to be arrested.

Surendran of BJP says before Saritha's arrest home minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan talked to Saritha Nair. It was Saritha Nair who called Thiruvanchoor. 

Some more questions include why only one personal secretary Tenny Joppen got arrested?

Latest news on Solar Scandal Media got the call lists from Saritha's mobile number which show that among the ministers whose have contacted Saritha, tourism minister A P Anil Kumar and revenue minister Adoor Prakash have had frequent telephonic conversations with her. Former minister K B Ganesh Kumar of Kerala Congress (B) and Mons Joseph, MLA, of Kerala Congress (M), have contacted her more than 100 times in a few months.

The home minister's private secretary, P K Raveendran, was also in constant touch with her. Between February and May, Thiruvanchoor and Raveendran called Saritha or received calls from her 30 times. Raveendran even called her on May 30, three days before her arrest.

 Update : July 2 2013:
Shalu Menon's house warming celebration had current Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan too. He also got calls from Saritha Nair including a call for more than 3 minutes as per leaked phone reports. While other ministers like Aaryadan admitted that Saritha Nair called and came to see him once, Thiruvanchoor was silent on this and now says he don't remember about the calls.

Update: Oommen Chandy's personal assistant arrested for cheating. There is another allegation that the complaint got edited/corrected to remove Oommen Chandy.
The Principal Sessions Court on Tuesday rejected the anticipatory bail plea filed by PRD former director A Firoz, in a cheating case connected with the solar panel scandal.

Those in Oommen Chandy's office, Tenny Joppan, Jikku Jacob, Salim Raj, and RK, were in constant touch with Saritha S. Nair. In addition, the Chief Minister’s assistant in New Delhi, Thomas Kuruvilla, was also in touch with Saritha.

Atlas Jewellery gave an advance of Rs 23.50 lakh to Saritha on June 6, 2012, for supply of solar panels for its new branch at Palarivattom.

Regina George of Chilavannoor gave 95.86 lakh by offering partnership and dealership of an energy company.

Joy of Moovattupuzha paid Rs 1.60 lakh for Solar Panels.

Remanded till July 4 2013.

“Con woman” Saritha S Nair’s estranged husband Biju Radhakrishnan on Saturday dropped a bombshell saying former minister K B Ganesh Kumar and Union minister K C Venugopal had illicit relationships with his wife and that it was Ganesh who destroyed his  family and their solar power business.
 Talking to the media from an undisclosed location, Biju said he had informed Chief Minister Oommen Chandy about Ganesh’s fling with Saritha in an hour-long meeting at the Ernakulam Guest House. This meeting was facilitated by M I Shanavaz MP, he claimed.

The incident occurred when the victim, a fourth-year student of the Kasturba Medical College, was waiting to hire an auto outside the Manipal University campus gate to return to her flat from the library around 11.30pm.

“The victim said in the complaint that she was abducted by the accused, driven to an isolated spot and gang-raped after midnight. Though she managed to reach her flat later, she gave the complaint early Friday,” Boralingaiah said.
